Don't Compare the boy to Jay Jay Okocha - Gernot Rohr

Super Eagles Coach Gernot Rohr have stated that Ebere Eze should not be compared to Nigeria soccer Legend Austin Jay Jay Okocha.

The Franco-German gaffer was put on the spot by the ever active Nigeria sports media concerning how he could improve the already loaded Super Eagles team.
With Queens Park Rangers youngster, Eberechi Eze the topic again as Nigerians are relentless about their special adoration for the lad.

Eberechi Eze bluntly rejected the offer to play for Nigeria Senior National team Super Eagles after an attempt was made by the Nigeria Football Federation to capture him.

Ebere who is an England youth international has won the hearts and minds of the Nigerian football fraternity with his scintillating displays for Queens Park Rangers in the English Championship was offered an opportunity to play for Nigeria in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Lesotho on the platter by Coach Gernot Rohr.

But the 21-year-old opted out and made his first start for England Under-21 on Tuesday night in a 2-1 defeat against the Netherlands.

”For Eze we have to be patient because it now means we have to wait for him to make up his mind to play for Nigeria and when he does the process requires patience as with Ola Aina it took one year”, Rohr told Owngoalnigeria.com.
”He has what can be of help to my team and that was why we went after him but I don’t think he plays like Okocha. They are different. Maybe he will get to that level in the future but for now he is not close”, Rohr concluded.

The QPR number 10 is still eligible to play for Nigeria as he is yet to be capped at senior level by the English Three Lions.
