Enyimba international, Theophilus Afelokhai has come out to apologise for the entire Super Eagles B team after their disappointing outing in Lomé.
The Hawks of Togo stun the Nigerian domestic football ambassadors by 4-1 on Sunday in the first leg of Cameroon 2020 Championship for African Nations qualifier.
Theophilus Afelokhai who picked the ball out of his net four times has accepted responsibility and called on Nigerians to be patience with the team.
"It was just a bad day for all of us, let's not turn this into a drama". the Former Kano Pillars custodian posted on Social media.
"This is just starting and there's a long way to go. I'm happy to be part of the team, Playing for My country is a responsibility and also tremendously exciting. I can feel the fans' warmth when I'm out there and that fills me with both happiness and pride. I'd like to tell Nigeria not to worry and I hope this doesn't happen again."
Nigeria will host Togo for the second leg next month as the last edition runner-up will be aiming to overturn the deficit.
