South Africa beat Egypt to set quarter-final clash with Nigeria

85th minute strike from Thembinkosi Lorch fired South Africa into the quarter-final of the Africa Cup of Nations ahead of their Egyptian counterparts, thanks to L. Mothiba for the assist.

After the first half of the game ended 0-0, the South Africans took a giant step in the second half and stunned the Egyptians in the 85th minute with a 1-0 win.

South Africa managed to get into the round of 16 as one of the best third placed team and have now defeated Egypt who won all the three group games.

South Africa will now face Nigeria in the quarter-final on Wednesday, 8:00pm West Africa Standard Time, same as Nigeria Time.

After 90 minutes, it Egypt 0-1 South Africa, so it ended at the Cairo International Stadium.
