Super Eagles of Nigeria ended their Total Africa Cup of Nations dress rehearsal with a slim defeat to the Teranga Lion of Senegal in Ismailia,Egypt on Sunday evening.
Senegal who are Africa's top ranked team won via Idrissa Gueye's lone goal in the 30th minute by capitalizing on a defensive mix-up by the defence line of the three-time Africa Champions.
There were few positives from the test game as Gernot Rohr made good his chance to try out the 3-5-2 formation against a West African opposition.
Sanhel Chukwueze paired Odion Ighalo in the attack with Jamilu Collins and Samuel Kalu manning the left and right wing-back positions respectively.
Mikel, Iwobi Wilfred Ndidi played in midfield while John Ogu formed a three-man defence partnership with Omeruo & Troost-Ekong. Akpeyi kept his place in goal. After a defensive mix-up allowed Gueye stab in the winner on 30', Ndidi, Ighalo, Chukwueze and Etebo all came close to finding an equaliser but to no avail.
It was the final preparatory game for the Eagles ahead the tournament opener on Saturday.
