Spanish FA President Luis Rubiales has announced that La Liga games will no long hold on Monday following the protest of Alaves fans after their win over Levante on Monday night, the match which was shifted to Monday for Live TV Coverage.
Alaves fans held a funny funeral on Monday night, putting on a black attire and carry a coffin on their shoulders to show their displeasure for Monday nights games.
Luis Rubiales took to his Twitter page on Friday afternoon to make the announcement which read as follow, "there will be no more football on Monday, from next season in the league, there will be football on Saturdays and Sunday. We will see that happens with Fridays, if we reach a good agreement for all. Business is important but more fans."
This is the second time Alaves will be protesting Monday night football following their protest in December Monday night game against Athletic Bilbao.
Monday nights football started in the La Liga in 2010 but will now end at the end of 2018/2019 season.
