MAO Football Club and Ajiroba FC share spoils in pre-season friendly

MAO Football Club played a 2-2 draw with Ajiroba FC of Ile-Ife in a pre-season friendly on Thursday, as the Osogbo based club continue their preparation for the upcoming 2018/2019 Aiteo Cup and the Nigeria Nationwide League season.





Two goalkeeping blunders from the team second choice goalkeeper Chibuike Kingsley denied the Horlawale Horladosu led side the deserved victory of the evening as the team first choice goalkeeper was not part of the game due to thigh injury.
It was an entertaining encounter between both sides as the game ended in 4 goals thriller.

The visitors dominated the opening half, capitalizing on Chibuike Kingsley's error to get an early goal 10 minutes into the first, but few minutes later Babatunde Hakeem restored parity to the host from a well taken spot kick.

Before the end of the first half MAO Football Club took the lead from a counter attack display, thanks to Babatunde Hakeem who scored for the second time to give the Osogbo based club the lead for the first time in the encounter.

In the second half, another goalkeeping blunder from Chibuike Kingsley earned Ajiroba FC the second goal to level up in the game, a long range effort from Adeola Nifemi beat out of position Kingsley and denied MAO the deserved victory.
A good defensive display from the visitors denied MAO the opportunity of the getting the winning goal and great efforts from the two goals scorer were off target and others denied by the woodwork.

The 7 minutes added time should have been enough for the host to get the deserved victory, but Ajiroba FC did well to absorbed the pressure and forced the Horlawale Horladosu led side to a 2-2 draw.

After the entire game time, it MAO FC 2-2 Ajiroba FC, so it ended inside the Osogbo Government High School Sports Complex.
