Nigeria sole representative at this year CAF Champions League made their return to the Nigeria Professional Football League after bowing out at the group stage of the Competition.
The Makurdi based team return to the NPFL with a slim victory over Rivers United in NPFL rescheduled fixture. Goals from Sikiru Alimi and Michael Stephen in the 45'+1 and 57rd minute respectively were enough to give Lobi Stars the desired victory, though Cletus Emotan strike for Rivers United in the 77th minute reduced the scoreline to 2-1 in the thrilling encounter.
Lobi Stars will now focus on the Nigeria Professional Football League they won last season as they are already out of the CAF Champions League.
