Izzy Christiansen may miss the FIFA Women World Cup in France, following an ankle surgery. The England midfielder had an operation on Friday following the injury she sustained in England 3-0 win over Japan in Tampa on Tuesday night, as they clinched the SheBelieves Cup.
Also on the injury sideline for England is Arsenal midfielder, Jordon Hobbs, who suffered a rupture on her anterior cruciate ligament in November and has been ruled out of this summer's World Cup in France.
Phil Neville will hope Christiansen recover fast and be ready to face Scotland in their opening game on June 9 in the World Cup.
The team coach has expressed delights toward the successful surgery of Izzy, "we were delighted to hear from Izzy yesterday and that her operation went well, we are all wishing her a speedy recovery and will be supporting her in every way we can over her rehabilitation period," Phil Neville said.
Izzy Christiansen is a former player of Manchester City, but currently playing for Lyon in the French Women top flight League.
