Yobe Desert Star; We will fight for Coach Ngozi

A new season and a fresh career experience for versatile youngster, Obinna Ukwu. After some seasons in Southern Nigeria, the teenager migrated to opposite direction to the desert in far North.

The Ex-Go Round diminutive player is enjoying new life all-rounder; "I'm enjoying my time in the team and i joined Yobe Desert Stars to help the team to perform this season and to test football in north."
After drawing goalless at home against 2016/2017 NPFL champions,Plateau United,the management of the damaturu based Yobe Desert has given Coach Ngozi Elechi three-match ultimatum to turn things around for the Desert Machine.
But the 19-year-old is sure about revival despite the team having only seven(7) points from seven league matches.

"Although,things are not going the way we want it but i believe we are going to bounce back strong. Our target is to remain in the Nigeria Professional Football League(NPFL) by the end of the season."
For a team languishing in the 11th position in the Group B of an abridged league of twelve teams each, Obinna states his dislike for the format but emphasize on total support from the players to the under-fire technical crew.

"We the players are not happy about where we are so we will fight for him and for our names too he(Coach Ngozi) is a very good coach i know he knows what to do for us to survive"
(On the abridged league) "I don't like it but we have to play"
About what to expect in their next league match against Nasarawa United in Lafia,the midfielder concludes by saying they will go all out for victory.

"Sure we are coming to win them(Nasarawa United), we have all it takes to beat them and i am sure we are going to win."
