On Tuesday evening, the Flying Eagles of Nigeria qualification to the 2019 U20 FIFA World Cup suffer setback, following a 0-0 draw with South Africa U20 national male team at the ongoing U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Niger Republic.
The Nigerians were the better side in the thrilling encounter as they dominated ball possession but could not get a single goal, nevertheless the team did very well against the South Africans but will now have to wait until the last game to secure the 2019 World Cup Ticket, a tournament that will hold in Poland between 23 May to 15 June this year.
Nigeria still top group A with 4points, with Niger Republic, South Africa and Burundi in 2nd, 3rd and 4th position respectively, Niger and South Africa have 2points each, while Burundi have 1point after two games.
A win or draw for Nigeria in the last group game against Niger Republic on Friday will earn Nigeria a place in the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup and the semi final of the 2019 U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Niger Republic.
