AFCON U20: Nigeria suffer defeat to South Africa

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria on Saturday evening suffered their second defeat of the Africa U20 Cup of Nations in Niger Republic, the young eagles went down to the South Africans in penalty shootout.
The tournament third-place game between Nigeria and South started with a lot of excitements, but both teams failed to score in the first and the second half, which threw the game into penalty shootout.
During the penalty shootout, Adamu Alhassan lost Nigeria first kick, but the South Africans did well and converted all their five penalties, the shootout ended 5-3 in favour of South Africa.

After the the entire game, South Africa defeated Nigeria by 5-3 (penalty shootout) in the third-place match and are the winner of the bronze medal of the 2019 U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Niger Republic.
