After a dangerous landing of Liverpool defender Joel Matip from an aerial ball he contested for in the last minute of the game between Liverpool and Napoli, the last group game of the UEFA Champions League, Matip is out injured.
He will be out for 6 weeks and will undergo surgery following a fractured collarbone, an injury he sustained on Tuesday night where Liverpool won Napoli by 1-0 and secured a place in the round of 16 of 2018/2019 UEFA Champions League season.
He was instrumental to Liverpool victory at Anfield on Tuesday night but will now be on injury sideline for the next 6 week according to medical report.
Matip will now join Joe Gomez on Liverpool's injury list. Gomez also sustained a lower leg fracture against Burnley and has been ruled out for 6 weeks. Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp is now left with only Dejan Lovren to play alongside Virgil Van Dijk at the center back.
