The Ministry of Sport under the governance of Barrister Solomon Dalung is yet to release fund for the Nigeria Amputees football team called special Eagles with just 11 days to the Amputees World Cup in Mexico.
Preparation has been difficult for the team as they lack adequate fund to aid their preparation for the tournament.
Nigfooty.com gathered that some of the player are coming from Ogun State, Ikorodu, Badagry and some other far distance to train at the national stadium to show that they are committed to represent Nigeria well in Mexico 2018.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria have donated about 6million naira to the team and the Nigeria Football Federation President Amaju Pinnick has also donated #2.5m and an additional $5000 to the team, Not forgetting Victor Ikpeba who also gave the team #100,000.
The team missed the 2010, 2012 and 2014 editions of the tournament due to lack of fund, and this is the final opportunity to honour the invitation or cease to receive such invitation.
The team is hereby calling on the Sports Ministry to wake up to their duty.
Nigeria Football and Others Media is also calling on corporate bodies to help this team as the team need more money to actualize their dreams.
The tournament holds between October 20 to November 5 in Mexico.
