With the previous and recent performance of Enyimba FC first choice goalkeeper, Theophilus Afelokhai, it is done on me that coach Gernot Rohr has not been fair to the formal Kano Pillars shots stopper.
The Giant Enyimba netminder has proved himself again with an outstanding performance in the ongoing CAF Confederation Cup. Enyimba is one of the four teams left in the competition and they will be taking on Raja Casablanca of Morocco in their Semi-final encounter of the competition, and Theophilus Afelokhai is one of the reason why Enyimba is still in the competition after pulling several saves in both the group and knockout stage of the competition.
It was a surprise for so many football fans who follows Nigeria and Africa Football that Afelokhai was snubbed again by Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr.
Rohr considered the likes of Ikechukwu Ezenwa who is the second choice goalkeeper to Theophilus Afelokhai in the Enyimba FC team and Daniel Akpeyi who has nasßwwesWewà 2eaßot done much for the Super Eagles, though Ezenwa is a good goalkeeper any day but the recent performance of in-form Afelokhai should have given him an edge ahead of Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Daniel Akpeyi.
Nevertheless, the coach is subject to his own opinion and he must be having a genuine reason or reasons for picking Ezenwa and Akpeyi ahead of Afelokhai.
