On Sunday night Lille Metropole defeated Olympique Marseille in their French ligue 1 week 8 fixture. The first ended goalless with both team unable to found the back of the net.
In the second half, 23-year-old Ivorian International Nicolas Pépé opened scoring for Lille from the spot in the 65th minute of the encounter after Marseille goalkeeper brought down a Nicolas Pépé in his 18-yard box.
Another penalty was awarded to Lille 4 minutes to the end of regulation time after Luiz Gustavo brought down Ivorian Nicolas Pepe one more time in Lille 18-yard-box and the kick was well taken by French International Jonathan Bamba to double Lille lead.
It was Jonathan Bamba again in the 89th who sealed the victory for the resolute Lille side, thanks to an assist from the French man Fodé Ballot Touré.
Though Marseille dominated ball possession but Lille were the better side of the night.
