Former Arsenal and Barcelona Striker Thierry Henry has been named the new coach of AS Monaco. The former French Striker signed a 3 years deal with the French club, replacing Leonardo Jardim who was dismissed on Thursday.
AS Monaco is currently in 18th position on the French Ligue 1 table after recording just 6 points from their 9 games so far this season.
Henry as football player started his professional career at AS Monaco in 1994 before moving to Arsenal where he spent the best time of his career, not forgetting that he also played for Spanish Giant FC Barcelona and US based New York Red Bull.
In his coaching career, he worked as assistant coach to Roberto Martinez with the Belgium Senior National Team for two years, he will now be working as the front man with AS Monaco.
Henry has expressed his gratitude to AS Monaco Management for giving him the opportunity.
"I want to thank Monaco for giving me the opportunity to coach a club that is so special to me. I am very happy to come back to Monaco and extremely determined to meet the challenges ahead. I cannot wait to meet the players and start working together," he said.
Thierry Henry is expected to resume with the team after International break.
