AFCON Qualifiers: Ighalo at his best again as Nigeria beats the Mediterranean Knights

The Nigeria Super Eagles Striker was at his best again as Nigeria proved supremacy over the Mediterranean Knights of Libya in a return leg match of 2019 AFCON Qualifiers. The Changchun Yatai marksman continued from where he stopped over the weekend by grabbing a brace from the return leg match in Sfax, Tunisia. It can be recalled that Odion Jude Ighalo scored a hat-trick in Nigeria over the weekend in the first leg encounter.
Odion Ighalo opened scoring for Nigeria in the 14th minute of the encounter following a solo pass from Ahmed Musa in the 18-yard-box of the Mediterranean Knights that gave him a easy tap in, and thanks to Alex Iwobi for connecting Ahmed Musa. Three minutes later the Super Eagles doubled their lead via a great efforts from Ahmed Musa and thanks to Odion Ighalo who was in good control of the ball to release a nice pass to Musa who scored the second goal with a great effort.

The Stadium came alive for Libyans in the 34th minute when Mohamed Zaebiaa headpast Francis Uzoho to give the Mediterranean Knights the first goal of the night.

The first half ended 2-1 in favour of the Nigeria Super Eagles.
The second half started with Nigeria Super Eagles front line showing some level of tiredness, that made the Mediterranean Knights to wax stronger and took advantage of the tiredness by mounting so much pressure on Nigeria defence who could not managed the pressure, resulting to the Super Eagles conceding the second goal of the night, thanks to a 73rd minute strike from Ahmad Ben who took advantage of a ground shot from Masaud that was pushed out by Uzoho but a quick response from Ahmad restored parity for the home side.

The moment of the game was in the 79th minute when Changchun Yatai striker cutoff  two Libyan defenders to create space before sending the ball to the back of the net and sealed the victory for the Super Eagles.

Nigeria now top Group E with 9 points, South Africa who played a 0-0 draw against Seychelles are 2nd with 8 points, Libya in 3rd position with 4 points and Seychelles is at the bottom of the table with 1 point from 4 game and are out of 2019 AFCON.

After 90 minutes, Libya 2-3 Nigeria, so it ended in Sfax, Tunisia.
