CAFCC: Injury time goal fires Enyimba to quarter-final

Enyimba resumed action at their home ground on Wednesday with a slim victory over their Caf Confederation Cup counterpart CARA Brazzaville in matchday 6 of the 2018/2019 CAF Confederation Cup season at the Enyimba International Stadium.

Enyimba dominated the game but was unable to get the ball into the back of the net in the normal period of the game. It is an all important game for People's Elephants to progress to the quarter final.
Cara Brazzaville goalkeeper, Chansel Mohikola was at his best in the game, denying Enyimba from locating the back of the net with a couple of saves and was able to keep Enyimba out for the normal duration of the game.

But in the 90+3', super sub Wasiu Alalade stole the show from the  visitors by hitting the back of the net close to stoppage time after connecting to a rebound from Mfon Udoh well-taken free-kick, Udoh free-kick was sent back by the crossbar, sending a rebound to Alalade who chest down the ball and fling it to the back of the net with is left foot.

After Wednesday victory, Enyimba now top the group with 12 points, Cara Brazzaville with 9 Ponts, while Williamsville and Djoliba has 9 and 5 points respectively, after both side played a 0-0 draw in their final group game. Enyimba and Cara Brazzaville are through to the last eight.

Enyimba is the only Nigeria team left in all Caf Club Competition this season following the elimination of Plateau United, MFM FC and Akwa United.
