Mikel shines as Taijin Teda were held at home

Super Eagles and Taijin Teda captain John Obi Mikel was in action for his Chinese league club Taijin Teda in their first match of the season as they were held to a 1-1 draw  by Mascherano Hebei CFFC side.

The midfielder was in action for the entire duration of the game and gave a five star performance.

Taijin Teda took the lead in the 25th min with a well taken goal by Jiakang Hui but were made to pay for the less impressive play as Chengdong Zhang got the equalising goal for Hebei CFFC with four minutes to play. Also in the game, former PSG forward Lavessi missed a penalty for Hebei CFFC.

The former Chelsea midfielder pivotal display earned him a high rating of 7.5 ahead of Argentina Javier Mascherano 6.

Nigerian football fans will be hoping for more impressive performance like these from the Super Eagles skipper when the World Cup kicks off in June.
