Zambia 2-2 Cameroon: Banana Rip Chipolopolo Joy in 92nd Minute

African Champions Cameroon twice came from behind to earn a 2 – 2 draw at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium against Zambia the final qualifying game for the Russia 2018 World Cup.

Zambia controlled the game for long portions and will look back at a missed opportunity of beating the Indomitable Lions.

Patson Daka who scored the last time he played for Zambia in the qualifiers against Algeria picked up from where he ended as he put Zambia ahead in the 26th minute.
He benefited from a Fashion Sakala assist after he made a run from deep in midfield to finish with his first touch from inside he box. Cameroon then had their best spell in the game as they quickly pinned the Chipolopolo in their own half and failure to close down Zambo Anguissa saw him take a shot from the top of the box which left Kennedy Mweene rooted to his spot for the equaliser in the 31st minute.

After the break, Brian Mwila restored Zambia’s lead in the 64th minute.

Enock Mwepu powered his way into a good position to make a double one two on the edge of the box with Daka who showed awareness to give a back heel pass for Mwila to finish.

With only two minutes of the four added on minutes after regulation time, the Zambian defense was caught off guard for Banana Yaya to head home from inside the box.

Zambia finish second on 8 points while Cameroon are third on 7.

Nigeria head to World Cup after collecting 14 points.

Algeria finished rock bottom without a win.
