WAFU: Benin Republic and Niger Eliminates Cote D'Ivoire and Senegal

Benin Republic setup a rematch with Nigeria Home-based Super Eagles after coming from behind to defeat a tough 9-man Niger Republic at the ongoing West Africa Football Union Cup of Nations in Ghana.

After Group A Favourites, Ghana and Nigeria scaled through to the Semi-finals on Monday, attention was shifted to Group with Giants in Cote D'Ivoire and Senegal putting superiority to test while Benin and Niger putting the colours of their respective Republics on the line.

Senegal and Cote D'Ivoire played out a tough goalless draw while goals from Rodrigue and Jules cancelled Adebayo's opener for Niger as Benin Republic dramatically qualify for the last four.

Benin Republic topped the Group B table with 6points followed by Niger Republic with 4points but only edge Senegal on 4points but superseded the Elephants on Head to Head while Cote D'Ivoire finished bottom with 2points.

Nigeria will play Benin Republic on Thursday for a place in the final while Ghana will entertain Niger Republic later that night.

Recall that Nigeria defeated Benin Republic 2-1 on aggregate to qualify for CHAN 2018.
