Nigeria 4-0 Cameroon: Individual Super Eagles Players

After a fantastic performance by Super Eagles against the WWE Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, we must highlight the key Individual brilliance of this unbelievable victory.

But to make things Easier, let us focus on individuals on the pitch for Nigeria on Friday.

■ Ikechukwu Ezenwa: The FC Ifeanyi Ubah goalkeeper made a big statement with his actions, his Kidiaba dance befits the victory and his NPFL time wasting tactic frustrated the Cameroonians and Coach Gernot Rohr will value Ezenwa more.
The only problem he has seems to be his aerial presence, he flapped some crosses.

● Elderson Echiejile: The Elder state man of the Super Eagles defence was decent against a Talented Christian Bassagog who was simply the best Cameroonian on the pitch. He did his job very well without going forward unnecessarily.

★ Leon Balogun: By their names, you shall know them Balogun in Yoruba simply translate to 'A Warrior!' Well timed tackles, clearance upon clearance and Balogun was just like Jericho wall for Vincent Aboubakar who had a little or no chance on the ball.

♥ William Ekong: A lovely birthday performance for Ekong who's happy for a defensive reunion with Leon Balogun for another episode of Oyinbo Wall.

● Abdullahi Shehu: Work Ethic was good and unlike Echiejile, he was defending and equally attacking. A performance that modern day wing-backs will applaud as he made the pitch bigger like an extra man in midfield.
● Ogenyi Onazi: Bashed by many against South Africa, Eddy was out for redemption yesterday, He was more defensive after Mikel was substituted as he cleared a Cameroonian effort off the line while his assist for Iheanacho goal was precise.

♥ Wilfred Ndidi: Had a quiet first 15minutes but grew into the game especially in second half, Onyinye was part of the creation of the first opportunity while he also shielded the ball as much as John Obi Mikel.

■ John Obi Mikel: The difference maker, Obi is getting better game after game and was involved in all the three goals before his substitution.

The Super Eagles failed to control the game from the offset but Mikel instruct his colleagues to be Shielding the ball like him.

Excellent assist and deserved goal while also set Victor Moses for a Counter attacking third Nigerian goal.

● Moses Simon: Had a fantastic game against all odds, a terror performance from the smallest player on the pitch.

Sent in a wonderful cross for Victor Moses in the first half and got repaid with a setup by the Chelsea star but Ondoa covered his near post expertly.

Daddy was cool and calm in the exchange with Victor Moses for the third goal.

★ Victor Moses: Outrightly the best player on the pitch ,Victor has grown from being an exciting into a mature superstar.

Moses just like Mikel was involved in three goals and could have had more than a goal.

He showed defensive appetite few times.

● Odion Ighalo: The Chinese based striker had his best match in a Nigerian Jersey with a goal and his classy dummy for Mikel's goal sold the entire Cameroonian defence while the two yellow cards to two Cameroonian defenders unsettled the African Champions.

△▽Substitutes

◎ Kelechi Iheanacho: Good body adjustment for the fourth goal and his seventh in eleven appearances for Super Eagles.

A booster ahead of his return to Leicester City next week.

● Mikel Agu: Came in for John Obi Mikel and brought more defensive stability into the team as that allowed Ndidi to push forward in the latter part of the match.

● Ahmed Musa: Replaced Moses and chased the tired Cameroonians like Usain Bolt.

■ Gernot Rohr: The German is the best Nigeria tactician in over ten years save for the Late Stephen Keshi.

He was very tactical in his game plans and always make effective substitutions.

I noticed that he instructed Balogun and several others to stay behind for Nigeria offensive setplays and it will be expected that he will approach the second leg with some fresh legs with Odion Ighalo looking like a doubt.
