Super Eagles of Nigeria have moved up in the latest FIFA Ranking released by the world soccer governing body on Thursday.
Nigeria is now the 38th best team in the world and 6th in Africa.
South Africa have dropped to 66th in the world and 13th in Africa, despite winning their last four international outings, with their only defeat coming against Tanzania in the Cosafa Cup at the start of July while Cameroon are now 35th and 5th in Africa despite failing to win a match at the just concluded FIFA Confederations Cup.
Sticking with Africa and Egypt remain the top dogs on the continent, although the Pharaohs are down one place on the global standings, now sitting 25th.
Congo DR remain unmoved in second on the CAF table, with Senegal completing the top three.
Globally, Argentina remain in third, while Poland have reached an all-time high of fifth.
