In the current qualifiers where Nigeria lost 0-2 to South Africa, only 16 teams were supposed to qualify meaning only group winners from the 12 groups of 4 teams each would have made the 16 team tournament in Cameroon but Caf meets some days back to reformat the current qualifying process.
At the moment Nigeria and Seychelles lie bottom of Group E as Libya and South Africa lead the standings. With the current 12 groups it's possible that picking 2 teams from each group would make the 24 team tournament, however, you have to consider Cameroon being hosts and that means only teams that finish 1st and 2nd from the 11 direct groups would qualify.
Nigeria has to up their game in the next qualifiers in March 2018 and ensure they ascend the log to avoid third consecutive qualification failure.
