FIFA U-17 World Cup Draw

FIFA U-17 World Cup draw was conducted in India by Nigeria Football Icon,Nwankwo Kanu as hosts avoided heavyweights of world football in the FIFA Under-17 World Cup draw held in Mumbai on Friday, but they will face some tricky ties nonetheless. The tournament will be held from October 6-28.
Indian football team were drawn in Group A where they will lock horns with the United States of America (USA), Colombia and Ghana. All three countries have been regulars in the competitions while it will be India’s maiden appearance in the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

African Champions Mali will face New Zealand,Turkey and Paraguay while Group D will be tough for Niger as Brazil,Spain and Korea DPR will come hard. Guinea will test Germany, Costa Rica and Iran.

Two teams from each of the six groups along with the four best third placed teams in the preliminary phase will move to the round of 16, to be held from October 16.

The quarter finals are to be held on October 21 and 22 followed by the two semi-finals on October 25 in Guwahati and Navi Mumbai.

The third place game and the final are both scheduled in Kolkata on October 28.

Defending Champions,Nigeria will not defend the title after failing to qualify.
