Not less than nine clubs based in Northern Africa will be competing in the group stage of the 2017 Caf Champions league.
Group A and Group B has three clubs from North Africa each. Defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns have been drawn in Group C of the CAF Champions League with AS Vita (DR Congo), Esperance (Tunisia) and St George (Ethiopia).
Zanaco of Zambia will have to overcome Cotton Sport of Cameroon, Wydad Casablanca and the most successful club in Africa Al Ahly.
The draw took place at CAF's headquarters in Cairo on Wednesday afternoon.
The opening round of group fixtures is scheduled to take place on the weekend of May 12-14.
