Scottish Club Hibernian on Wednesday confirmed the signing of Super Eagles defender Efe Ambrose on loan from Celtic. Nigerian internationalist Ambrose, 28, joins Hibernian on a short-term loan deal from Ladbrokes Premiership side Celtic until the end of the season.
Former Motherwell, Falkirk, Dundee United and Ross County defender McLean, 31, joins the Club after a brief spell with Brunei DPMM in Singapore’s S.League and also signs until the end of the campaign.
Hibernian Head Coach Neil Lennon is pleased to have signed both defenders on short-term deals at a crucial time in the season. He said: “We were a little bit light on bodies in the central defensive position at the minute and bringing in Efe and Brian will fill that void. “Both have fantastic experience in domestic football here in Scotland, as well as abroad. I know what qualities each of them possess and they will help to bolster the squad as we strive to achieve our goals this campaign.”
Meanwhile,2008 Beijing Olympics silver medalist walked straight into the starting line-up as Hibernian lost 2-0 away at St Mirren through brace from Stelios.
