Former Super Eagles Player and Coach Samson Siasia has been shortlisted for the vacant head coach position of Bafana Bafana in South Africa.
It was made public by Safa on Thursday that Siaone will slug it out with Current Cameroon Coach Hugo Broos who just led the indomitable lions to 5th Afcon trophy,Hassan Shehata who won Afcon thrice with Egypt,former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini,
Lothar Matthaus and Bernd Schuster.
SAFA have stated that more than sixty applications have been received and it was rumoured last month that Claude Le Roy and Roy Hodgson were also amongst the candidates to take the Bafana hotseat.
German duo Matthaus and Schuster are both without positions currently and eager to get back to management. Matthaus has experience on the international stage having coached Hungary and Bulgaria whilst Schuster is perhaps best known for his stint in charge of Real Madrid where he led them to the 2007/08 La Liga title. Meanwhile,South African legends Lucas Radebe and Benni McCarthy will form part of the committee to appoint the new Bafana Bafana coach.
