The indomitable lions of Cameroon are getting ready to battle Egypt in Libreville for the African Crown against all odds.
Cameroon wing-back Collins Ngoran Fai has attributed their surprise run to the African Nations Cup final down to their ability to stick to the plan laid down by their Belgian coach Hugo Broos.
“We are obviously happy that we have reached the final,” says the Standard Liege defender, who has started four of the five games the Indomitable Lions have played.
“But then in as much as we are the people who play, I personally feel that the coach [Broos] has been vital for us. He has outlined his strategy in every game that we have played and we have followed it to detail and that is the reason why we are going to the final.
“In the most difficult match that we have played to date which was against Senegal the coach had a plan and it worked out well.
“The strategy for the match [against Ghana] was to keep the ball which we did and now we are going to the final. So I give credit to the coach,” concludes Fai.
The four times champions went to the tournament depleted following the withdrawal of eight big players as they now have the chance to cap a remarkable run with a victory against Egypt
