Etebo is Nigeria Player of the Year

Dream team sensation, Oghenakaro Etebo have been Voted massively by Nigeria football Lovers on Nigeria football and others Facebook Group. The Portuguese based youngster won despite been plagued by injuries in 2016.


Seven Players were nominated to Battle for three spots in the first stage of voting that saw Enugu Rangers Hero Chisom Egbuchulam claimed only 1Vote, Paul Ekong racked 3Votes, Godwin Obaje who was NPFL top scorer was voted twice as Super Eagles Captain Mikel John Obi had 5Votes, but it was Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi that seems inseparable as they both had 9Votes each.

The final was interesting as three players nominated for Caf Awards battle for one spot. Manchester City Forward Kelechi Iheanacho and Ex-Warri Wolves Star Oghenekaro Etebo will contest for Caf Most Promising Talent of 2016 while Alexander Iwobi of Arsenal FC will slug it out with other Africa Youngsters for Youth Player of the Year.

Etebo 21 won the poll by huge margin with 24Votes as Kelechi Iheanacho came second with 11Votes while Alexander Iwobi was third with 7Votes.
