What a man Can do,A woman can do better !
With the recent performances of Gerhot Rohr as Super Eagles Coach,we are expecting Coach Florence Omagbemi to show us that becoming Super Falcons Coach is not about her Past Glory as a National team Player especially her choice ahead of Male Coaches.
With Multiple talents in the team,Coach Omagbemi Surprised many by not Starting Ngozi Okobi,Desire Oparanozie and Many others against Mali where she opted for a 4-3-3 formation.
Super Falcons Team List Vs Mali:
Alaba Jonathan, Faith Ikidi Michael, Ugo Njoku, Onome Ebi, Osinachi Ohale, Osarenoma Igbinovia, Halimatu Ayinde, Rita Chikwelu (c), Francisca Ordega, Uchechi Sunday, Asisat Oshoala
Subs: Ibubeleye Whyte, Rita Akarekor, Ebere Ngozi, Gladys Akpa, Ngozi Okobi, Glory Iroka, Ijeoma Obi, Desire Oparanozie, Esther Sunday, Chioma Wogu.
Tall Uchechi Sunday started as lone striker ahead of Much Athletic Oparanozie with Oshoala as Right Winger,Ordega as Left Winger,Igbinovia was doing some dirty work in Midfield with Ayinde and Veteran Chikwelu pulling the Strings.
Energetic Ohale partnered Beautiful Onome Ebi with Ugo Njoku operating from the Right back while the Experienced Faith Ikidi Started as Left back.
Uchechi Sunday was a bit Stranded because Oshoala and Ordega were not servicing her aerially and Nigeria led by two goals in the first half from both Wingers.
Uchechi Sunday was able to take few shots at goal including the penalty she scored early in the Second half as Coach Omagbemi made two changes.
First was the introduction of Chioma Wogu for Uchechi and due to Injury, Ebere Ngozi for Ugo Njoku.
Asisat Oshoala moved up top, Ordega to Right wing,Wogu to Left wing,Omagbemi kept faith in Ikidi as she moved from Left back to Centre Back as Ohale was asked to fly as Right back which saw Ngozi Ebere in her attacking best from Left back.
The moves paid off as Asisat was able to run at the Malian defence to score second half hat trick off through balls by Rita Chikwelu in particular who was massive in the midfield.
The performances by Wogu leading to the Competition earned her the nod ahead of Esther Sunday, Oparanozie and Okobi as a substitute and we will be looking forward to how the Coach will Unleash those stars in the upcoming matches.
Mali are not bad and will atleast score against both Ghana and Kenya.
